• Share good institutional practices in conducting financial investigations, including participation in practitioners networks (such as the Interpol-StAR Focal Points network and others);
• Increase awareness of results-oriented strategies (1) to plan and lead financial investigations involving multiple targets, assets. and jurisdictions, and (2) to establish a clear link between corrupt acts and their proceeds;
• Develop skills to identify and utilize a number of approaches to conducting financial analysis and investigations;
• Gain familiarity with various tools and techniques for successful financial investigations (i.e., bank accounts analysis, tracing of assets and visualization of results);
• Provide a platform for bilateral and multilateral side-meetings between the countries seeking asset recovery and the various G8 members, partner and regional countries.

A high-level Turkish judicial delegation composed of all anti-corruption deputies has visited the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC) Thursday, March 30, 2017. The delegation was headed by Yilmaz Akgil, President of the Turkish Justice Academy. In his presentation, Judge Mohammed Al-Askari, Advisor of the Center, highlighted the Center’s most important activities and objectives, followed by a discussion on the dangers of corruption and the need to strengthen the capacities of all concerned parties to ensure that this phenomenon is controlled through both necessary efficiency and speed.

Rolacc Hosts Workshop for De Montfort University Faculty of Law Students
The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center in Doha (ROLACC), last week held a training workshop for 14 students and law professors from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.
The visit comes as a part of a training program designed for the Faculty of Law at the University of De Montfort. Qatar was one of the countries chosen to visit during their educational tour, and ROLACC was among the institutes visited.
The workshop at ROLACC aimed to assist the students and faculty in their understanding of Qatari law. In addition, it was designed to develop their understanding of key ROLACC projects, such as the Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani Award for Anti-Corruption Excellence, the LLM program in cooperation with the University of Sussex, and the role of ROLACC within the International Association of Anti-Corruption Associations (IAACA) and the Qatar Law Forum (QLF). The visit ended with a tour of the ROLACC Anti-Corruption Library, the first of its kind in the region.
The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre provides local, regional and international training courses for various institutions and bodies in the field of the Rule of Law, combating corruption and governance issues in the Middle East and North Africa region.

This month, the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC), in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), organized an event, the Academic Forum for Anti-Corruption Experts in Arab Countries, in Rabat, Morocco. The aim of this forum is for the academic elite to work towards a common vision; the adoption of an anti-corruption curriculum taught in Arabic to universities in the Middle East and the Arab world.
The opening speech was delivered by Mr. Salem Jaber Al-Harmi, representative of ROLACC in the State of Qatar. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Haneen Belhadj, President of King Mohammed VI University, Dr. Ezzeddin Ghaffran, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Economic, Social and Political Sciences, and Dr. Hatem Ali, Regional Director of the UNODC and member of the Arab Cooperation Council. The forum was attended by professors and academics from Qatar, Morocco, Mauritania, Kuwait, Oman, Algeria, Tunisia, Jordan, Palestine and Iraq.
The President of the university praised the constructive and effective role of partners in the region, especially the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre in Doha. This initiative was endorsed by all as the beginning of an era of cooperation between these institutions, to combat corruption and curb its spread.

The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center in Doha (ROLACC), last week held a training workshop for 14 students and law professors from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.
The visit comes as a part of a training program designed for the Faculty of Law at the University of De Montfort. Qatar was one of the countries chosen to visit during their educational tour, and ROLACC was among the institutes visited.
The workshop at ROLACC aimed to assist the students and faculty in their understanding of Qatari law. In addition, it was designed to develop their understanding of key ROLACC projects, such as the Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani Award for Anti-Corruption Excellence, the LLM program in cooperation with the University of Sussex, and the role of ROLACC within the International Association of Anti-Corruption Associations (IAACA) and the Qatar Law Forum (QLF). The visit ended with a tour of the ROLACC Anti-Corruption Library, the first of its kind in the region.

This month, the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC), in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), organized an event, the Academic Forum for Anti-Corruption Experts in Arab Countries, in Rabat, Morocco. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award is a global event celebrating the remarkable work of Anti-Corruption fighters around the world. Since 2016 the award has been held around the world in support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. The Rule Of Law and Anti-Corruption Center is proud to serve as the secretariat of this prestigious award.
This year the award will be held in Doha, Qatar on Thursday 8th December 2022, at the Al Dafna Hall, Sheraton Hotel. 11Objectives of Special Session II:
• Share good institutional practices in conducting financial investigations, including participation in practitioners networks (such as the Interpol-StAR Focal Points network and others);
• Increase awareness of results-oriented strategies (1) to plan and lead financial investigations involving multiple targets, assets. and jurisdictions, and (2) to establish a clear link between corrupt acts and their proceeds;
• Develop skills to identify and utilize a number of approaches to conducting financial analysis and investigations;
• Gain familiarity with various tools and techniques for successful financial investigations (i.e., bank accounts analysis, tracing of assets and visualization of results);
• Provide a platform for bilateral and multilateral side-meetings between the countries seeking asset recovery and the various G8 members, partner and regional countries.

A high-level Turkish judicial delegation composed of all anti-corruption deputies has visited the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC) Thursday, March 30, 2017. The delegation was headed by Yilmaz Akgil, President of the Turkish Justice Academy. In his presentation, Judge Mohammed Al-Askari, Advisor of the Center, highlighted the Center’s most important activities and objectives, followed by a discussion on the dangers of corruption and the need to strengthen the capacities of all concerned parties to ensure that this phenomenon is controlled through both necessary efficiency and speed.

Rolacc Hosts Workshop for De Montfort University Faculty of Law Students
The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center in Doha (ROLACC), last week held a training workshop for 14 students and law professors from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.
The visit comes as a part of a training program designed for the Faculty of Law at the University of De Montfort. Qatar was one of the countries chosen to visit during their educational tour, and ROLACC was among the institutes visited.
The workshop at ROLACC aimed to assist the students and faculty in their understanding of Qatari law. In addition, it was designed to develop their understanding of key ROLACC projects, such as the Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani Award for Anti-Corruption Excellence, the LLM program in cooperation with the University of Sussex, and the role of ROLACC within the International Association of Anti-Corruption Associations (IAACA) and the Qatar Law Forum (QLF). The visit ended with a tour of the ROLACC Anti-Corruption Library, the first of its kind in the region.
The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre provides local, regional and international training courses for various institutions and bodies in the field of the Rule of Law, combating corruption and governance issues in the Middle East and North Africa region.

This month, the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC), in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), organized an event, the Academic Forum for Anti-Corruption Experts in Arab Countries, in Rabat, Morocco. The aim of this forum is for the academic elite to work towards a common vision; the adoption of an anti-corruption curriculum taught in Arabic to universities in the Middle East and the Arab world.
The opening speech was delivered by Mr. Salem Jaber Al-Harmi, representative of ROLACC in the State of Qatar. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Haneen Belhadj, President of King Mohammed VI University, Dr. Ezzeddin Ghaffran, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Economic, Social and Political Sciences, and Dr. Hatem Ali, Regional Director of the UNODC and member of the Arab Cooperation Council. The forum was attended by professors and academics from Qatar, Morocco, Mauritania, Kuwait, Oman, Algeria, Tunisia, Jordan, Palestine and Iraq.
The President of the university praised the constructive and effective role of partners in the region, especially the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre in Doha. This initiative was endorsed by all as the beginning of an era of cooperation between these institutions, to combat corruption and curb its spread.
